Sukarno(in english) or can be called "Bung Karno" was the leader of his country's struggle for independence from imperialism and was Indonesia's first President from 1945 to 1967.

Sukarno told the throng that he did not want to become a dictator and that he would arrange for elections as soon as possible.

He urged all Moslems to resist terrorist activities of the fanatical "Darul Islam" guerillas. "Good Moslems," said Soekarno, "do not kill, rape, and burn houses of their fellow men."
